API makes a dream come true for June Audio

Scott Wiley, owner and chief engineer at Utah-based recording studio June Audio, is celebrating the realisation of a dream he expressed some 18 years ago in an article in Pro Sound News: to own an API console.

Scott runs June Audio in downtown Provo together with Sarah Wiley, who handles the day-to-day operations. The duo began consulting with studio and architectural acoustics specialist Wes Lachot Design Group more than 10 years ago on designs for the new studio facility. Ultimately, it was decided to create a dedicated, purpose-built complex from the ground up to accommodate the two new rooms, which are connected to the original 1924 heritage home that houses several production studios. The new June Audio facility has now opened with a fully fitted 32-channel API 2448 console featuring the US manufacturer's Final TouchTM moving fader automation system, fitted into custom wood millwork designed and built by Tony Brett of Brett Acoustics.

According to Wes Lachot, "The API 2448 was the clear and best choice for June Audio's Control Room 1, and we couldn't be happier with the results."

Adds API's director of sales, Dan Zimbelman, "When Wes designs a new room for a client, he generally prefers to recommend an API console, which in the past has included a Vision for Manifold Studios, a Legacy for Deep River Sound and now a 2448 for this fantastic June Audio facility. I think he does this because he really believes in our technology, superior sonic performance, features set and investment value. We're honored to play a part in his fantastic studio designs and work with his clientele."

June Audio works with a diverse client base of regional and national musical acts including John Legend and Bonnie Raitt.
