In the most recent issue of Recording magazine, Editor Paul Vnuk Jr. spoke with "seven of the most respected preamp designers in the industry" to discuss the basic functions and various nuances of microphone preamps. Among those interviewed was API's own Director of Engineering Todd Humora, who has demonstrated his outstanding skill and dedication over his 18 year tenure as an Audio Design Engineer at API.

Todd spoke on the history and inner workings of API's time-honored and celebrated preamps, originally designed by Saul Walker and dating back nearly 50 years. Todd also commented on API's status as "the American preamp/console sound," as Vnuk put it.
