Dweezil Zappa's Bowie Cover Tracked on API

In honor of the legendary David Bowie's passing on January 10, 2016, Dweezil Zappa has just released a cover of Bowie's "I'm Afraid of Americans" two years to the day after his death.

Zappa recorded the song in September of 2017 at the famous Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, where acclaimed musicians like The Rolling Stones, Miles Davis, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, and even Dweezil's father Frank Zappa worked on their albums.

The control rooms in Sunset Studio 1 and 3 both feature custom API/De Medio desks with API 550A EQs in each channel. The desks can be seen in the video documenting Dweezil Zappa's recording of the cover song. It's great to see Sunset Sound's API desks churning out new tracks while commemorating a musical icon.
